One Thousand Dollars, One Hundred Kilograms
The good news is that I've had the panel van serviced, got a roadworthy certificate and have taken official, VicRoads-sanctioned ownership of it. The bad news is that it cost me $1300. I'm not sure of the correct words to describe what was wrong, but there were some bolts in the engine that had become warped and the engine was leaking fluids—you could see stains on the side of the engine, and there was all this disgusting looking gunk on the outside of the engine. I guess this is what I get for paying less than market value for the car. Anyway, $1000 for repair work plus $300 for the registration transfer has made me more than a little poorer this month. If I own anything that you want, feel free to make me an offer.
In other news, I've decided that I'm going to try and get my weight down to 100 kilograms. I'm currently hovering around 130, which is where I've been since I've stopped growing. Anyway, I'm setting down some rules:
- No more 2 AM chocolate bar and soft drink runs to the service station across the road
- No food from anywhere with a drive through (this includes inner city McDonalds—if one or more stores of a franchise has a drive through, all stores in that franchise are excluded)
- No Diet Coke
- No Skinny Milk
- No Pancake Parlour or other desert-oriented restaurants
- I have to walk to and from work at least three times per week—I'm planning on doing this on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
I'll edit this post as I think of more, or more are suggested. So feel free to say “hey tubby, put down that chocolate bar” or “hey tons-of-fun, leave that cheese alone”… not that any of you fuckers ever needed permission.
EDIT: “Becomed?” What the hell was I thinking?!?
